Job Description:

True North Classical Academy is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented self-starter with problem solving skills and a team attitude to join our organization as Revenue Accountant. As a member of a rapidly expanding organization, this position promises to be fast-paced and full of opportunity to implement new and impactful initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Book accounting entries for internal revenue (field trips, fundraising, sports, Student Activities, Lunch).

  • Accountable for all fundraising or student revenue, including rollover of returning accounts, setting up new accounts . 

  • Collaborate with School personnel to complete monthly sub schedules in Google Sheets for individual student activities, Lunch programs and field trips 

  • Handle all athletic related activities involving revenue or income.  Ex. Sporting tickets, fees, sport uniform etc. 

  • In charge of Inventory schedules

  • Receives, records, and processes all cash and Non-cash revenue from all sources. 

  • Prepares bank reconciliations for related accounts

  • Assists with monthly closing (e.g. Account reconciliations). 

  • Monitors, verifies, and updates petty cash spreadsheet; counts and logs cash from various actives

  • Review/reconcile Internal A/R accounts as needed.

  • Perform ad-hoc projects as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or 1-3 years of professional experience in Accounting.
  • Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles and a firm understanding of Accounting concepts. Knowledge of non-profit accounting standards, preferred.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical and technical skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with spreadsheets, computer applications such as Word, Excel and accounting systems, a must. Experience with Blackbaud’s Financial Edge and Raiser’s Edge preferred, but not required.
  • Strong organizational abilities with close attention to detail and precision.
  • Able to communicate status and issues effectively orally and in writing. Ability to keep information confidential.
  • Strong customer service focus, with an ability to interact congenially and effectively with a diverse network of employees, customers and vendors.
