True North Classical Academy is a high achieving classical school in Miami, FL.  We are looking for a French Teacher to join our faculty for the 2024-2025 school year. The candidate must have a love for modern language, be fluent in the language taught, and be able to work collaboratively with the school leaders, colleagues, students, and parents.

The ideal candidate will be able to build in students a love for French and the skills necessary to one day be fluent: in reading, writing, and speaking. It is only when we are fluent in a language that we are able to absorb the culture in which the language is spoken. Reading and discussing classics in the original language is another goal.

Duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Understand classical education and are in line with the school’s mission.
  • Develop in students a sense of wonder and a love of learning.
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning; and develops a culture of excellence within the classroom.
  • Plan a program of study that meets the needs of students; establish clear objectives for all lessons and units; ensure that lessons are aligned with state curriculum and school-wide curriculum standards.
  • Develop lesson plans and submit them weekly for review and feedback as scheduled.
  • Work cooperatively with True North’s instructional coach to learn from feedback and improve the quality of instruction. Participate in ongoing data meetings to ensure that the school's curriculum remains aligned to state standards.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records as required.
  • Communicate with parents regularly regarding all aspects of their child’s performance and make provisions for being available outside normal hours; work with parents to encourage participation in their child’s learning experiences.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Desired Skills & Experience 

Bachelor's, Master’s, or Doctorate degree from a fully accredited college or university.

Candidates must be  prescribe to the liberal arts / classical education model  employed at True North Classical Academy.

Candidates must see education as a vocation and are willing to go above and beyond the call of duty for the success of all students.
