Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chess Instructor to join our team and provide in-person chess instruction to our students. As a Chess Instructor, you will have the opportunity to share your passion for chess with students of all ages and skill levels in a supportive and enriching environment. The ideal candidate will have strong chess skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive chess curriculum tailored to students' skill levels and interests.
Conduct in-person chess lessons, workshops, and activities for students, ensuring a positive and engaging learning experience.
Provide individualized instruction and feedback to students to help them improve their chess skills and strategic thinking.
Organize and oversee chess tournaments, competitions, and other events for students to showcase their abilities.
Collaborate with school administrators, parents, and other instructors to support student learning and development.

Requirements:

Proficiency in chess with a solid understanding of chess principles and strategies.
Previous experience teaching chess to students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate students.
Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for teaching chess.
Flexibility to work during after-school hours and occasional weekends for tournaments and events.
Ability to pass a background check, as required by the school or organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification or accreditation in chess instruction.
Experience working in an educational or youth development setting.
Familiarity with tournament organization and management.
